Principal Investigator
I am an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Engineering at Boğaziçi University. I received my Ph.D. degree from the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at Michigan State University. I was a research assistant in the Pattern Recognition and Image Processing Lab under the supervision of Anil Jain and Jiayu Zhou. My research interests include machine learning, deep learning, adversarial machine learning, robust training, and temporal analysis, and their applications in biomedical informatics.

Barış Çakmak
I’m an undergraduate student in Computer Engineering at Boğaziçi University. My research focuses on understanding Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) and Dementia by building predictive models that track patient health over time using longitudinal data. I’m especially interested in how machine learning, deep learning, and time-series modeling can be applied to real-world problems in biomedical informatics. Outside of research, I love playing the piano and listening to classical music.
Kerem Oğuz
I’m an undergraduate student in the Department of Computer Engineering at Boğaziçi University. My research focuses on machine learning and artificial intelligence, particularly working with data from patients with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) and Alzheimer’s Disease (AD). I explore sequential models and variational autoencoders (VAEs) to better understand patterns in medical data. Outside of academics, I enjoy playing basketball and sailing.
